Contact Hours and Grad Credit

Earning badges in the Edge • U badge program can convert into contact hours or graduate credit from Ashland University.  At the end of each school year, we will offer to process graduate credit through Ashland as an option if you would like to apply your badge points toward graduate credit.

Contact Hour Information

Great News! You have the flexibility to print out your own contact hours directly from the transcript in your educator dashboard! This feature can be accessed anytime you choose. 

A school year in Edge•U runs from July 1 - June 30. Any points earned in this date range are attributed to that school year, regardless if you are redeeming points for contact hours or graduate credit.  

Please note, if you decide to receive only Ashland graduate credit, we cannot issue you contact hours for any badge points that you will be applying to the graduate credit(s). For example, if you have earned 70 points, you can turn in those points for one graduate credit and two contact hours; you can not turn them in for one graduate credit and 17.5 contact hours. Graduate Credit Information

Paying for graduate credit is a separate cost to the individual paid to Ashland University. You can earn up to three graduate credits per year from Ashland (note the school year dates above; July 1 - June 30). Points must be earned and redeemed for graduate credit within one school year in order to be eligible for the graduate credit. 

You must register for graduate credit by June 30 each year. You can earn points up through June 30 of each year toward graduate credit, but you must be registered for the credit(s) by June 30. Any points July 1 or later will go toward the next school year. 

• 1 graduate credit hour = 62 points earned in the Edge • U Badging program in a single school year and costs $185 (paid to Ashland University).
• 2 graduate credit hours = 124 points earned in the Edge • U Badging program in a single school year and costs $370 (paid to Ashland University).
• 3 graduate credit hours = 186 points earned in the Edge • U Badging program in a single school year and costs $555 (paid to Ashland University).
